Our story
INSTOR PROJETOS E ROBÓTICA has its origins
in mid-2004, where its founding partners worked as students at the Laboratory of Metallurgy and Physics (LAMEF), located within the School of Engineering of
Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in the city of Porto Alegre - RS.
Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in the city of Porto Alegre - RS.
In early 2008, the partners were approved in the
incubation selection process of CEI/UFRGS (Center for
Entrepreneurship in Informatics), and after developing
a comprehensive technical and economic feasibility study,
the company was founded in July of the same year.
In 2009, the company joined an ambitious program of SEBRAE-RS, called Program for the Densification of the Production Chain of Oil, Gas and Energy of RS. In this program, the company has constantly participated in various training courses, fairs and business missions, where it strengthens its network of contacts and its business management.
Furthermore, the company has an extensive fundraising
history of Economic Subsidy for Innovation, having approved several projects, highlighting the PRIME/FINEP project, the INOVAPERS 2010 public notice from SEBRAE-RS, the PRE-SAL/FINEP public notice, the public notice
INOVA from SENAI and the Tecnova RS public notice from FAPERGS.
In 2012, INSTOR graduated from the incubator, and since September of this year it has been practicing its activities in its own headquarters, with highly appropriate physical space and advanced tools for the execution of proposed technological innovation projects. In this same year,
the company registered as an official supplier of PETROBRAS goods and services.
Launch of Macuxi, an automated industrial painting robot
Development of the Tupã robot for thermal inspection
In 2020, Instor enters the field of EX robotics expertise. During this period, we achieved the milestone of the first certified EX robot in the Americas, the TUPAEX. This milestone led to the further refinement of technologies for explosive atmospheres.
Expansion into new sectors with Jaci, an autonomous germicidal robot.
Launch of Jaguar AMR for the logistics sector
Launch of Tupã EX, a tracked robot for inspections in hazardous areas with Ex certification, in partnership with Petrobras.
Development of Guaraci, a hexapod for tank inspections,
in partnership with Petrobras.
International association with SPRINT Robotics
Approval of the Hexapod Project in the FINEP Radical Innovations Program for the Electrical Sector
Member of the Brazilian Association of Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection (ABENDI)
Intensification of agriculture-oriented projects. Approval of two projects, Jasuka and Nhandecy, designed to meet the demands of small and medium-sized rural properties.
In 2026, Instor intensifies the enhancement of its service-oriented technologies. The Angoerá Scanner, Angoerá EX Scanner, and Sonda EX are developments that mark this historical moment.
We also highlight the evolution of our hexapod prototypes as an important milestone.
Furthermore, we are continuously working on special projects for the industry.
