Our story

2004

INSTOR PROJETOS E ROBÓTICA has its origins
in mid-2004, where its founding partners worked as students at the Laboratory of Metallurgy and Physics (LAMEF), located within the School of Engineering of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in the city of Porto Alegre - RS.

2008

In early 2008, the partners were approved in the
incubation selection process of CEI/UFRGS (Center for
Entrepreneurship in Informatics), and after developing
a comprehensive technical and economic feasibility study,
the company was founded in July of the same year.

2009

In 2009, the company joined an ambitious program of SEBRAE-RS, called Program for the Densification of the Production Chain of Oil, Gas and Energy of RS. In this program, the company has constantly participated in various training courses, fairs and business missions, where it strengthens its network of contacts and its business management.

2010

Furthermore, the company has an extensive fundraising
history of Economic Subsidy for Innovation, having approved several projects, highlighting the PRIME/FINEP project, the INOVAPERS 2010 public notice from SEBRAE-RS, the PRE-SAL/FINEP public notice, the public notice
INOVA from SENAI and the Tecnova RS public notice from FAPERGS.

2012

In 2012, INSTOR graduated from the incubator, and since September of this year it has been practicing its activities in its own headquarters, with highly appropriate physical space and advanced tools for the execution of proposed technological innovation projects. In this same year,
the company registered as an official supplier of PETROBRAS goods and services.

2018

Launch of Macuxi, an automated industrial painting robot

2019

Development of the Tupã robot for thermal inspection

2020

In 2020, Instor enters the field of EX robotics expertise. During this period, we achieved the milestone of the first certified EX robot in the Americas, the TUPAEX. This milestone led to the further refinement of technologies for explosive atmospheres.

Expansion into new sectors with Jaci, an autonomous germicidal robot.

2021

Launch of Jaguar AMR for the logistics sector

2022

Launch of Tupã EX, a tracked robot for inspections in hazardous areas with Ex certification, in partnership with Petrobras.

2023

Development of Guaraci, a hexapod for tank inspections, 

in partnership with Petrobras.

2024

International association with SPRINT Robotics

Approval of the Hexapod Project in the FINEP Radical Innovations Program for the Electrical Sector

2025

Member of the Brazilian Association of Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection (ABENDI)

Intensification of agriculture-oriented projects. Approval of two projects, Jasuka and Nhandecy, designed to meet the demands of small and medium-sized rural properties.

2026

In 2026, Instor intensifies the enhancement of its service-oriented technologies. The Angoerá Scanner, Angoerá EX Scanner, and Sonda EX are developments that mark this historical moment.

We also highlight the evolution of our hexapod prototypes as an important milestone.

Furthermore, we are continuously working on special projects for the industry.

The quality parameters (requirements and technical specifications) of each project, product or service are defined by the customers.

The company has a significant portfolio of completed projects, serving different sectors (petrochemical, mining, oil and gas, mechanical metal, among others) and with different degrees of innovation (incremental and radical).

Instor carries out customer satisfaction surveys to apply its continuous improvement actions.

INSTOR has a highly qualified team, made up of engineers and technicians with specialties in mechanics, electrical, electronics, computing, control and automation.
